The Duke BioRepository & Precision Pathology Center (BRPC) is a biobank that facilitates research studies both inside and outside of Duke by providing quality specimens and data to investigators around the country. We have collected and processed biospecimens for over 10,000 Duke patients participating in clinical trials and obtained broad consent from over 6,000 Duke patients.
When we joined the Cooperative Human Tissue Network (CHTN) as the Southern Division in 2019, we were able to provide researchers with access to over 60,000 dedicated research specimens, millions of leftover clinical pathology samples, as well as de-identified clinical, histopathologic and molecular data.
Our biobank has been College of American Pathologists (CAP)-accredited since 2013, and this is another quality standard that we are proud to offer investigators using our samples and data. Our partnership with Duke University Heath Systems Clinical and Anatomic Pathology Laboratories enables us to support translational research with simultaneous protection of patient care.
